Contact forms and inquiries
Through our inquiry form and our contact form we process your name, company, address, telephone number, email address and the details of your request. The legal basis is the performance of pre-contractual measures (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), or for general inquiries our legitimate interest in responding (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Booking forms (RoRo and container)
For bookings we additionally process details of the vehicle or cargo, the port of loading and destination port, and the consignee. The legal basis is the performance of the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Contact by phone, WhatsApp and Instagram
If you call us or write to us via WhatsApp, we process your details in order to handle your request. Our website only links to WhatsApp and to our Instagram profile. These are plain links: no data is transmitted to these services and no cookies are set when you visit our website. Only when you click one of these links are you forwarded to the respective provider, who then processes data under its own responsibility. The providers are WhatsApp Ireland Limited and Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, both at Merrion Road, Dublin 4, Ireland.
Email communication
We process your emails in order to handle your request and retain them for as long as necessary or as required by statutory retention periods.
Server log files
When our website is accessed, the following is recorded automatically: browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL, host name of the accessing device, time of the server request and IP address. This data is not merged with other data sources. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the technically correct presentation and the security of our systems (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Document upload
Documents (e.g. identity documents, vehicle registration certificates, commercial invoices or customs papers) are processed exclusively in order to handle the inquiry or booking. Documents may also be submitted later by WhatsApp or email.
The legal basis is the performance of the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and compliance with legal obligations under customs and foreign trade law (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
In order to carry out the transport, we pass on the necessary data and documents to the shipping line engaged, to port and terminal operators at the port of loading and the destination port, to customs authorities and, where applicable, to transport companies for pre-carriage and to insurers. Data is only passed on to the extent required for processing.
For shipments outside the EU, data is necessarily also transferred to recipients in third countries. The legal basis is Art. 49(1)(b) GDPR, as the transfer is necessary for the performance of the contract.
Cookies and consent
A cookie is a small file that is stored on your device by your browser when you visit our website. We use technically necessary cookies on the basis of our legitimate interest in the proper operation of the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cookie consent with Complianz
Our website uses the consent technology provided by Complianz in order to obtain your consent to the storage of certain cookies on your device or to the use of certain technologies, and to document this consent in compliance with data protection law.
When you enter our website, a connection is established to the servers of Complianz in order to attribute your consents and other declarations regarding the use of cookies. Complianz then stores a cookie in your browser so that the consents granted or their withdrawal can be attributed to you. Data processed: the consents you have granted or withdrawn, your anonymised IP address, information about your browser and device, and the time of the visit or decision.

Services used
Hosting (IONOS)
Our website is hosted by 1&1 IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Strasse 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. The provider processes all data arising from your visit to our website on our behalf. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing our online offering securely and efficiently (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place.
Contact forms
The forms on our website are provided via our content management system. The data entered is sent by email to info@export-shipping.com and stored on our server.
Email delivery
We use the email account of our hosting provider to send form notifications and our replies.
WhatsApp and Instagram links
Plain links without any data transfer when the page is loaded. For details see the section “Personal data collected”.
Google Fonts
We use Google Fonts. These are served locally from our own server. No connection to Google servers is established when you visit our website and no data is transferred to Google.
Google reCAPTCHA
To protect our forms against abusive automated use we use Google reCAPTCHA, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited. The service analyses whether input is made by a human or automatically. Among other things, it collects the IP address, the time spent on the website and mouse and keyboard movements. Google Ads conversion tracking
We use Google Ads, the online advertising service provided by Google Ireland Limited. We use it to measure whether visitors who reached our website via one of our ads subsequently submit an inquiry, complete a booking or contact us by phone or WhatsApp. For this purpose Google sets the cookies _gcl_au and _gcl_ls described above. We receive only aggregated evaluations, such as the total number of inquiries per campaign; we are not able to attribute this to individual persons. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR in conjunction with Section 25(1) TDDDG). Without your consent the Google Ads script is not loaded. Language setting
In order to provide our website in German and English, we store your language selection in a cookie. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a functioning multilingual website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Retention period
Personal data is stored only for as long as is necessary to handle the inquiry or booking, to comply with statutory retention obligations or to pursue legitimate interests.
